How to work with subtitles in the Moovly Studio?

How to edit, import, and export subtitles in the Moovly Studio.

Create subtitles

Open the Moovly Studio go to the Toolkit tab and select Subtitles:


Click 'Add subtitle Track'


The text field will appear on the Stage and Timeline where you can start typing subtitles. 



On the Timeline, a new Subtitle clip called 'Subtitles' will appear. This will be to indicate the subtitle track on the Timeline.

To add more subtitles move the red Playhead marker to a new spot in the Timeline to add new subtitles.

The subtitles will always appear in the same place on the Stage so you don't have to worry about moving them to match. 



Add Subtitle Track

Next to Subtitles, there is a  +  icon. To add more Subtitles tracks click the + button.



On the right-hand side of the Moovly Studio, you can change the properties of your subtitles. You can adjust the font, size, and (background) color and set a language for your subtitles.

Import and export subtitles

  1. Import subtitle form: Import a subtitled form from your computer. This can either be an SRT file or a CSV file. 
  1. Export subtitle form: Here you can export your typed subtitles in the Moovly Studio editor to a file on your computer. You can export it as an SRT, CSV, TXT, or PDF file. 

Translate subtitle tracks

To create projects in different languages you can use the translate feature by selecting the Subtitle Track on the Timeline and going to the 'Translation' tab and choosing your preferred translation method.  More details


 

Working with multiple subtitles

To move multiple subtitles all at once go to Subtitles clip and click on the two arrow symbol next to the hide icon. There are three options:
    1. Subtitle bocks not linked (default)
    2. All subtitle blocks linked: move subtitles all at once
    3. Right subtitle blocks linked: The selected subtitle and all subtitles on the right side will move together


Splitting subtitles

  1. Select the subtitle on the stage
  2. Double-click to edit
  3. Click Split subtitle on Playhead
